Caroline Oesterheld

Since retiring Caroline has had time to indulge her love for drawing and painting, usually outdoors in the bush reserves around Sydney or figurative studies in Sketch groups. Her art is generally an emotional response to the everyday, particularly nature and animals. She is inspired by things that make her laugh and smile and aims to interpret that mood in her work. Watercolour is particularly suitable for her practice, due to the immediacy and transparency of the medium. She paints ‘En Plein Air’ weekly around Sydney and is inspired by regular walks in the Australian bush.
Improving her painting skills gives her tremendous satisfaction and is a fulfilling outlet for self expression.
