A community for artists & exhibitors

We are a not-for-profit Incorporated Association aiming to support and encourage all forms of visual art, while helping artists develop their skills and connect with the wider community.

The Society meets at 7.30pm on the first Tuesday of each month (except January) at the Masonic Hall, Cnr. Pacific Highway & Turramurra Ave. Turramurra, with guest speakers or leading artists demonstrating a variety of techniques in oils, watercolours, acrylics, drawing and much more.

Exhibitions and Activities

The Society offers a range of activities throughout the year, including exhibitions, workshops, and artist demonstrations.

We hold three exhibitions annually at St Ives Shopping Village, with our Annual Awards Exhibition taking place in July, alongside additional exhibitions in March and October.

The Awards Exhibition features a variety of categories for members to enter, with prizes generously supported by the Society and our sponsors.

Our Team

The Ku-ring-gai Art Society is proudly run by a dedicated team of volunteers. Their time, care, and ongoing support make it possible for the Society to continue offering exhibitions, workshops, and events for the community. Our Committee is elected annually and meets monthly to co-ordinate all of our activities and volunteers.

Combined Art Societies of Sydney

KAS is a member of the Combined Art Societies of Sydney. The patrons of the Combined Art Societies of Sydney are Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC, Governor of New South Wales and Mr Dennis Wilson.

The Combined Art Societies or CASS is run by a small group of volunteers who are dedicated and enthusiastic Art Society members.

Their aim is to unite and strengthen the standing of art societies in our community, to gain greater recognition for art societies, and to encourage a standard of excellence among individual artists within our societies. The CASS at this time has twelve member societies.

Our History

Celebrating its 60th Anniversary in 2025, the Ku-Ring-Gai Art Society (KAS) is a non-profit organisation, run by artists for the benefit of artists and those interested in the arts.

Founded in 1965, the Society has established and maintained a reputation for excellence, attracting artists from a wide spectrum of disciplines, covering both traditional and contemporary two dimensional works in all media. The Society benefits from the support of two Patrons, Meg Stewart and Lou Klepac.
