Week 3 Challenge – 22nd – 28th April
Dear Ku-ring-gai Art Society Member,
Thank you for the beautiful art challenge sketches and the statements supporting them. If you have sent an image in the last week and it has not been shown on FaceBook then please resend it today, as I may have accidentally missed it in my inbox.
Here is week three’s sketch challenge of “Through the Window” from 22.4.20 until 28.4.20.
Please send a neatly cropped image of the work eg a clear photo to both
Liz Harriott at liz.harriott@hotmail.com and
Thomasin Graham at ThomasinGraham@bigpond.com
and we will publish the work on FaceBook and in the newsletter and on our.kas website. Of course, if we are inundated with works it may take us some time to get around to publishing every work, and if we don’t get enough works, we will not continue with the challenge.
We will assume that if you have sent us this work that you are happy to have it published in the above-mentioned medias.
For Members who are not participating in in the challenge, please try and find the time to go to FaceBook and like, share or comment on the works.
Yours in art,
The Ku-ring-gai Art Society Committee.

The Original Introduction to this Weekly Challenge:
Ku-ring-gai Art Society Weekly Sketch Challenge
Dear Ku-ring-gai Art Society Member,
Here is an opportunity to pass some of those hours in isolation in an arty way.
Each week KAS will set an art challenge (sent out by email) to be completed by the next week. We will set a theme and you need to do an A4 or smaller sketch relating to the theme with a 50 word or less description of work eg media and how the theme inspired the work. Remember that this is not meant to be a major art piece for the awards exhibition but a bit of fun, and it will not be critiqued, only supportive comments on Face Book. It is open to all members.
Send the work to Thomasin Graham and to to Liz Harriott.
Thomi at: thomasingraham@bigpond.com
Liz at: liz.harriott@hotmail.com
A ” how to” instruction is on this website if you are unsure how to send a picture of your artwork by email.
We will publish the work in the newsletter and on our.kas website and on Face Book. Of course, if we are inundated with works it may take us some time to get around to publishing every work, and if we don’t get enough works, we will not continue with the challenge.
We will assume that if you have sent us this work that you are happy to have it published in the above-mentioned medias.
If you have ideas for themes, please send them in. We have already had one suggestion to use poetry as inspiration.
The period of social isolation gives us an opportunity to learn new computer, iPad and phone skills. If you need help with sending in you image of your artwork and 50 word artist statement then please email our KAS Web Team, Anne & Bryan, at, web@ourkas.com.au and we will try to help you.
Yours in art,
The Ku-ring-gai Art Society Committee.
