Bryan is a St Ives resident who transitioned from corporate life to retirement in 2013. His retirement hobby ambition is to be a water colourist and has been tutored by award winning Artists Malcolm Carver, Joe Cartwright, Rob Candy and Julie Simmons. Bryan has also completed intensive workshops with watercolour masters Joseph Zbukvic, Herman Pekel Amanda Hyatt and Alvaro Castagnet.
Bryan became an Exhibiting Member of the Ku-Ring-Gai Art Society in 2013.
Bryan’s works have been displayed at a number of events, the most successful being a joint exhibition and sale of works with fellow artist Julia Walsh in 2012. This event resulted in a contribution of $8,000 to the Brain Foundation Research Fund.
Having worked in oils and acrylics, Bryan finds watercolour to be both the most challenging yet rewarding medium. He exhibits with the Ku-ring-gai Art Society at the St Ives Shopping Village Gallery where his works have been purchased.
Bryan enjoys the “En Plein Air” sketching and painting experience with subject matter varying from Streetscapes, Landscapes and Marine to working interiors’ involving figures in action.
