Karen Hick Artist
My art career started in New Zealand back in 2005 when I was living in Auckland. I attended private art classes and fell instantly in love with painting and drawing. When I returned to Sydney in 2007, I continued private art classes on the Northern Beaches joining various art groups and loving the life of an artist.
Living on the Northern Beaches, I’m presented with the most amazing views in every corner of this beautiful place. Often my work is created using mark making, tone and texture. I paint intuitively, therefore every work is different and unique. I hope that I take the viewer on a journey when they see my work, and that it evokes emotions and memories. Often my work is described as ethereal, with different lighting it presents change and mood. Creating is so important to me, I want others to see what I see when painting and making new artworks.
