This workshop will suit students who have been exposed to the medium of watercolour and want to extend their knowledge to the next level, as well as beginners willing to learn the secrets of the medium. If you enjoy the challenge of producing loose, bold and free watercolours, then this is for you.
This well structured workshop will guide you through the principles of design, colour, drawing, tonal values and perspective, with strong emphasis on watercolour techniques including wet-into-wet and dry brush. There will be many step-by-step demonstrations tackling wide variety of subjects from rural landscapes, urban cityscapes to coastal seascapes.
Chan will dispel myths in watercolour and share his insights and experiences by showing you how to create depth, incorporate figures, connect shapes, edge control and how to exploit the medium in creating wonderful atmospheric effects. Each student will receive personal attention and encouragement. Students are also encouraged to bring their previous artworks for tutor’s appraisal. Chan’s quick direct approach to painting will leave you refreshed, inspired and revitalized.
