Realistic Still Life
Today we will be using acrylics however the methods we will be focusing on are traditional painting techniques of the old masters who always used oils.
The reason for using acrylics is only due to the drying time as we will be painting in 5 layers.
If you love oils, these methods can successfully be applied for use in both oils and acrylics.
I paint in both, often starting with acrylics and finishing in oils.

• How to paint incredibly three dimensional objects or portraits
• How to use tone, temperature and transparency in pigments & why?
• How to paint in layers
• Scumbling and glazing: How and when to apply and why
• What techniques we can learn from the old masters that have largely been forgotten in todays teaching
