Happy New Year 2022!

2021 End of Year Message from our KAS President.

 

Dear Members,

Thankfully 2021 is now over!

Ku-ring-gai Art Society has met all the COVID challenges thrown at it and has successfully:

  • -sneaked in the AGM in March,
  • -had the Autumn Exhibition with many sales,
  • -continued the newsletters,
  • -ran the Member for Bradfield Prize,
  • -had several face-to-face workshops and
  • -had our end of year Christmas Party.

I would like to particularly thank the committee who have continued working via phone linkup, Zoom Meetings and emails to make sure that everything continues to run smoothly.  I would also like to thank the subcommittee members who have helped with the exhibitions, the webpage, meetings and workshops which keep Ku-ring-gai Art Society a vibrant group.

Your Art Society still has the following vacant positions of: 

  • -Property Manager which needs filling before the next exhibition in March. 
  • -Newsletter Compiler,
  • -Guest Speaker Reporter, and
  • -Vice President with a view to becoming President, needed by 24.1.2022.  

The KAS Constitution stipulates that the President can only occupy this position for three years and my tenure finishes in March 2022. It is ideal to fill the President’s role with a Vice President (active exhibiting member) who has had some experience with the KAS Committee and understands how KAS functions. 

I will support/mentor anyone who steps up for the role.  I will not be able to continue my President’s duties past March 2022.

In 2022 KAS looks forward to and plans on returning to General Meetings at Turramurra Masonic Hall.  We will let you know how this will be run closer to the date.  We have an interesting group of Guest Speakers arranged for the year.

KAS also will continue with an exciting offer of workshops.  Please refer to the www.ourkas.com.au   web page to register for these workshops.

For any of you that are unwell we wish you a speedy recovery to full health.  I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and a relaxing and enjoyable break with your family and that 2022 delivers you all that you desire.
