workshop with Robyne Berling
on Saturday 2nd March 2013.
Learn a new and exciting way to paint with watercolour on Yupo paper. This is a plastic coated paper that allows the paint to sit on the top of the paper rather than to absorb into the paper which results in more vibrant colours.
There is also the benefit of being able to wipe off the colours so you will never lose your whites!! And if you don’t like what you have on your paper then you can wipe it off and start again.
There are endless possibilities with Yupo from happy accidents creating abstract paintings to more complicated scenes.
I have been painting on Yupo paper for several years now after being introduced to the paper by Rae Andrews and have had success with many sales and prizes using this paper.
The paper can be quite challenging at times but it is fun to experiment with different methods to create a painting, on the other hand I have seen people just drop the paint on the paper and wow, a painting emerges!
I tend to drop the colours with a rough idea of the subject, let it dry and then decide the composition.
It is great fun and an exciting challenge for beginners to experienced artists.
This workshop will be conducted as an introduction to Yupo Paper showing different methods of working on this paper, I am sure it will be interesting for both beginners in using watercolour and those experienced in the medium.
Please pay by 2nd February.
